Sampat: The Chinese seem to just want this to get over as quickly as possible and move on beyond what has been a very embarrassing week for Beijing. He says the fact that they publicly expressed regret, which is very unusual, at least in recent Chinese diplomacy where it's been this very wolf warrior approach for China does no wrong. Sampat: There has been a shift in tone in Chinese diplomacy following the start of Xi Jinping's third term in October when the party congress was held in Beijing.
