I utilize soft language when i think people don't take me seriously because of my race. Even if someone does you wrong, it does not give you the right to do them wrong back. I work as a lead supervisor at a dining hall and have been told i can be very mean or to some of the somaers that come in. The other supervisors constantly ask me to use soft language when speaking with difficult students that do not listen to what i have to say.
