What's Going On?
We accept what we see, and then we look for an interpretation. We do not question the interpretation in many cases. This is true in perception as well. When we present ambiguous stimuli, an interpretation is chosen by the mechanism. And we are not aware of the rejected alternatives. That turns out to be a fundamental characteristic of the way our mind works.
