The History of Family Planning in India
In 1975, when civil liberties were suspended, family planning and plans to control population growth took a dark turn. False sterilization was imposed on men from some of the poorest sections of society. In parts of old Delhi, men were rounded up and forced to undergo sterilization. So that is what happened then. It was only after what that government was overthrown in the next election in the countryThat's made slow progress for educating more girls. Millions of Indians have been put out of extreme poverty. Both those factors have also worked towards Indians having smaller families themselves,. whether the government wants them to or not.
