The fed wants to create some slack in the economy without causing a recession. But as powell said, it's a very narrow path. And if the fed's going to make a mistake, given that it's let inflation out for the first time in three decades, it's going to making a mistake by raising rates too much. That inevitably is going to result at some point in recession,. Not imminently, but as the three month, ten year curve flattens.
