The Differences Between Artificial Intelligence and Human Intellect
Chad: The way we use words in the space is a little fuzzy so if you think of what a human is doing in terms of our intelligence we have this conscious mind. When you have a computer there's no thought process going on and since computers aren't aware in any sense like that it just feels like something fundamentally different to us. So as a shorthand we use these metaphors but it's useful to keep in mind that the process going on in the computer is a deterministic kind of programmed thing using statistics to find patterns. We're doing is grasping the world around us integrating that into knowledge and making reliable decisions that we can explain and iterate and improve on.
