Hip hop music is often associated with poor urbanised black American communities but it doesn't have to be. Music transcends racial barriers and can be enjoyed by everyone. The importance of keeping it real is probably one of the things that you can learn from hip hop. Don't play yourself because that's just straight up whack. A lot of rappers are very rich these days, some of them are white. Some of them are of other ethnicities. This just goes to show that it's not just a simple question of black or white rich or poor or whatever. Hip hop really is available to everybody.
