Everyone has asymmetries in their body. The problem is when that asymmetry goes too far in one extreme and that can happen for a lot of different reasons. It may be triggered by an orthopedic injury. By building up stronger circuitry between all aspects of your toes, your fingers, your breath, that's how you're training out these abnormal movements. But in a sense, it's reinforcing the movements that you may have neglected because you just swung so far in one direction either left or right.
