The Pros and Cons of Organ Donation in a Community Hospital Setting

There's a lot of different surgical and medical conditions where centralization has demonstrated to be beneficial. For these large regions of the country that an individual OPO covers, they may have to have coordinators drive four or five hours to assess a donor in a hospital. The earliest outcomes come from the St. Louis Center, which has been the longest operating. They were able to demonstrate things like slightly more organs transplanted from donors, especially specific types of donors.
