Aristotle's Works Are Not Complete Works

Aristotle's works that we have are, i think, universally understood to basically be different kinds of lecture notes. To define something for aristotle is to say, what the essence of it is. And they add this level of specificity, and they say something right about our essence. Being rational is actually, it's important what it is to be human being. Without it, we would be enough. We were no longer rational. That's the only thing that separates off from mere animality, let's say.
