Do You Know What You're Doing With Your Syringe?

Don't use pre-filled saline syringes, draw nine cc's of saline into a fresh clean syringe and then draw up the one cc of cardiac epinephrine. If you now decide you're going to redraw into that syringe to make up another push-dose epi, you've already contaminated the inside of that syringe. It's a one-time use for any syringe. You could pull back once and then you could push once and then that's it. I imagine that is the same prohibition they are mentioning for pre- filled saline syrings.
