The Tao and Theology
Taoism is one of the wisest and most patient teachings of ancient religion both east and west. To quote the great Chinese philosopher, Shonkse, the sage has the sun and moon by their side and the universe under their arm. They blend everything into a harmonious whole. The object of ultimate concern for the Taoist is the Tao and living in accordance with it. propositions regarding the Tao are theological on Tillich's definition because they are objects of ultimate concern.
