Resistance Training - Is Volume Per Session a Good Idea?

The researchers did not assess the current training volume of the subjects of what they were doing before they entered the study. What if a subject was doing 30 sets per week on their own and they were randomly assigned to the high volume group? The same could be true for biceps. So I say all of this to say there's a lot of holes in the volume research. One of the largest things we already mentioned was not controlling for intensity.
