The Role of Race in Admissions Programs
Harvard and University of North Carolina admissions programs cannot be reconciled with the guarantees of the equal protection clause both programs lack sufficiently focused and measurable objectives warranting the use of race. The court said you can't use race just as race in other words here are the black students here all the Asian students here the white students here the Hispanic students that we're going to now take deliberately eight of these even though they have less metrics and less fewer numbers than the people in these groups. It's actually just making it a little bit more bureaucratically difficult for universities to continue to do what they've been doing, according to the dissent.
