Is There a Silent Minority Out There?
i think a lot of these people we see being performative on twitter and social media are really vocal minorities. The problem i have is when you sort of reduce a person to their identity of birth, which had nothing to do with them. Once you're reduced to a particular thing, like siset savarna, it shuts down conversation completely. And once you start thinking in those categories, you become the person you pretend to be. Then it's very sad, because then you're thinking in a very limited way about people. People are rich ardye, people are complex.
