An inventor is almost always failing. He tries and fails maybe a thousand times. If he succeeds once, then he's in. Silvester stalone, bruce willis, opra winfrey, bill clinton, stephen jobbs, donald trump all had to fail in order to learn the lessons that ultimately made them successes. Every oneof them was a failure, but none of them was defeated. These two things are diametrically opposite. We have to train him to experiment over and over and to keep on trying and failing until he learns what will work. This is the end of the editor's comment.
