How Philosophy Can Transcend Empirical Data

The third thing that philosophy needs to do is be capable of transcending empirical data. In other words, philosophy can't just be more science or say, hey, if you want to know the ultimate story about things, just go look at the science. The point John Paul II wants to make is that there is a way that we can know the meaning of life.
