In East Germany, you could be arrested if your TV aerial was pointing west. There were two East German channels and on one of them there was a programme called Dichvatsa Canal. It was 20 minutes of clips of West German TV programmes with a communist commentary. I'd watch programmes that had a commentary over the topic, explaining why they were so bad.
