I Think a Lot of Christian Patriarchy Results in a God Complex
Christian patriarchy results in a God complex because men are always taught to look outward toward a God who is not visible while they're visible. I think that's one of the tragedies of masculinity and toxic masculinity in church for me is that you believe yourself to be like falling so deeply in love with God but you neglect everything around you. So when I had to kind of shift from thinking about helping out with kids to really initiating planning things it meant all the reading had to slow down, too.
