The Sent Down Youths
For the sent down youth a large part of their intention was to send somewhat educated, urban young people into the countryside. And so they are supposed to learn from the peasants. But when they get to the countryside, they probably won't get much they really want to learn. The learning was about a half reality of how harsh life could be in the countryside in china. They were totally prepare for the intensity of hard labor that was normal, routined daily requirements of life in the countryside. How incredibly incompetent they were compared to the illiterate, dirty, anhygienic peasants. Some of those really smart ones will find niched in the countryside and be able to develop their leadership
