The History of Gender Identity Disorder

In the 50s and 60s, this term gender, but not gender identity, was the main sort of thing. And then in the 80s, you do see the gender identity, but you see gender identity used in a psychopathological way. Every time DSM rewrote itself, the classification and diagnosis changed because it was just never a stable thing. So it raised Ed Fell and there is a new one which still has a very mild version of it in it. I predict that when we're now with DSM-5, by the time we get to DSM-6, I think it's going to be gone.
