The book charts a course through the East End of the 1980s. The author's parents were very young when she was growing up in Docklands, London. Her mother decided to have an abortion against her father and other family members' wishes. She wanted to prove herself having had a baby against the wishes of the family. But all hell breaks loose as my mum sets in train a sequence of events that led to falling out with them.
