The Life and Times of William Bateson
He was born in 1904 and died in 1980. He's raised by William Bateson, who introduced the ideas of Mandel to British science. His marriage to Margaret Mead sort of falls apart at that time; he moves to California. A big piece I've left out is he's involved in the Macy conferences on cybernetics. That's a huge part of this. We'll probably come back to that.
