The current estimate is that it takes about 300 years for polyester to go away in the environment. The vision at Bolt is if everything's made of biomaterials, when that product reaches the end of its lifespan, or if you lose some of it, it gets torn a little bit of the fiber goes into the washing machine. These materials can biodegrade, just like the silk in a spider's web. Another one he's working on is leather.
