Anger and Envy Impact the Moral Life
Anger is caused by perceiving someone to slide us or show contempt for us, which is a kind of harm. In anger we perceive the slight as an unjust harm that we defend ourselves against through seeking vindication. Having well-formed passions is a very important part of the good life. Well-formed passions contribute to our genuine flourishing. We must come to know the habits of our passions if we wish to live a good life.
