The Reign of Terror in France

The reign of terror only has about 16 thousand official victims. And those killed in paris numbered only about 26 hundred. Most people who were arrested by the revolutionary authorities were either acquitted, or they languished in custody long enough to survive until the termidorian reaction. Between march and september 17 93, only 66 people were actually guillotined.
