Book Review: The Red Parts by Maga Nelson

This is a memoir by maga nelson called the red parts. It's essentially about the experience of the trial that takes place for her aunt's murder, but 35 years after the event. She gets into the heavily gendered ideas that underpin what makes a good or a bad victim in the eyes of the law. And she also gets into the creepy, grotesque desire we have as a culture to see and read about women victims. I need to read it. Perhaps not really a christmas book. But icommend it, as our patrons will find out. You'll get in your stocking along with the coal that you deserve.
