In 2019, OpenAI released information that it had been sitting on a language model named generative pre-trained transformer two or GPT two. The company would eventually release GPT two in several stages before the full code finally came out in November 2019. Critics accused OpenAI of relying on publicity stunts to hype up what their research and work had created. And so investors were willing to pour more money into OpenAI.
