What Characteristics Are Goliaths Meant to Have?

Very tall people can sometimes be intimidating and so giants are often portrayed as threats including being violent and savage. There's also a stereotype of a big dumb brute in contrast to small clever nimble people so giants are sometimes portrayed as stupid. Is Goliath the only giant in the Bible? No, in fact the earliest mention of giants in the Bible is way back in Genesis 6 just before the account of the Flood where we read about them.
