The Death Penalty for the Shooter of the Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue

On Wednesday, a federal jury unanimously recommended the death penalty for the man who killed 11 worshipers at the Pittsburgh Tree of Life synagogue in 2018. It's the first time a federal death penalty has been imposed since 2021 when the Justice Department placed a moratorium on federal executions. At the state level, the death penalty is legal and enforced in 24 states. Christians have a hard job. We must pursue justice and come alongside victims in their pain without letting a guilty verdict lessen our love for those convicted.
