Most people who call themselves entrepreneurs are actually freelancers. They're trying to build an independent entity where they have no boss, he says. "Every minute that you are doing work that you could hire someone else to do, you are doing a bad job" The entrepreneur's job is to create the conditions for other people to do the tasks,. And your job is to figure out some of the tasks where you are going to over invest to create something that isn't average.
Today, Seth Godin (!!) virtually dropped by to talk through a bunch of startup ideas. He gives his opinion on how he’d start everything from a pasta truck to an updated CSA program. We dive into risk, emotion, tension and doing things that matter. Seth talks about the distinction between entrepreneurs and freelancers and the danger of thinking you’re one when you’re really the other. We talk about marketplaces and domain expertise and knowing what it is you’re actually selling.
This is my favorite episode we’ve ever recorded, and I’m excited for you to listen to it.
