The Nuclear Disaster at Fukushima Daiichi
In 2011, a magnitude nine earthquake hit Japan. Massive tsunamis flooded the nuclear plant in Fukushima. Chemical explosions damaged surrounding buildings. TEPCO had done a risk analysis but it hadn't looked far enough into the past. Here's Bina Venkatronen on the TED stage.
