The Origins of Kashia and Cashia
Cashia under the name of Kwai is mentioned in the earliest Chinese herbal, that of the emperor Shenna Ming. Kashia comes in bales, two to four pounds, bound by strips from some other tree. The taste is more accurately aromatic, pungent sweet, at the same time more powerfully astringent.
