The state of Michigan tried to shut down a butcher's shop that was licensed through the department of agriculture. The owner and his wife refused to pay their license, even though they had not done so for 14 years. They were threatened with arrest if they didn't pay up but eventually prevailed in court. But since then he has fallen back under the blanket of protection of the U.S. Constitution.
