The Differences Between Have and Have Got

In the past tense of that verb get is got. So did you get my message or I got your message? Or I got a promotion. And then we have the separate verb to get, which means to obtain or to receive. What's really tricky here is sometimes got is very informal. And so that's where you have to differentiate between got as get in the past. Okay.
