Is the Taliban Getting More Control?

The Taliban are stronger in a stronger military position now than at any point since 2001. The rule of the country was already slipping out of the hands of Internet government and a military force that we've spent decades equipping and training even when we were there providing support carrying out airstrikes coordinated with them to try and beat back this force. So I think I disagree with your point that eventually the Taliban would have taken over with a sort of small footprint. A small footprint would have been able to beat them back.
