The Cost of Standardised Testing in the Classroom
Teachers do a lot of the care work that is not being provided elsewhere. Teachers stay after school to make sure their kids eat, they keep granola bars and clean socks for them. The creep of sort of standardised testing has actually stripped a lot of caring out of teaching - this week Keir Starmer said he's not going to fight for free meals.
