The Effect of Micro Vibrations on Metal Bending
In metal bending, there's more going on. People are constantly rubbing it and probably just rubbing it in one location. This applied a constant supply of micro vibrations and mechanical energy which could possibly induce the metal to soften. Another possibility is that by rubbing it, you are just bending it slightly back and forth and lead to a cumulative weakening of the metal.
