When he was a sales rep for Coulter in Alabama, the company moved him to San Francisco. He found himself doing outbound PG to doctors who only buy new machines every 10 years. One doctor wanted an old Becht and Dickinson culture machine that had been taken in on trade from a doctor in Alabama. The office manager said you just got to go away; she didn't think it would sell.
