Lithium Ion Batteries - Are They Good Enough?

Eric Schmidt: We have a way to store electricity, right? Why can't we just do that on the grid? He says chemical batteries like lithium ion batteries use all these special metals. But those metals are expensive to mine and they're limited; there's not enough of them for electric cars. Schmidt: So it might be better to use these lithium ion batteries since they are a limited resource in the places where it makes the most make sense.
