The Importance of PPE in a Pandemic

I'm not convinced that it will help us handle the next pandemic better. My hunch is if a pandemic happened again any time soon we'd have an equally poor response. If we then had another pandemic on top of what we're coping with at the moment there would be absolute meltdown. We've already wound down our vaccine development and drug development so whether we could wind them up again really quickly I don't know. The national audit office is producing a report tomorrow outlining how we're struggling to cope the mental health of workforce particularly in emergency departments.
