The Importance of Reason
The key faculty, according to the sentimentalists, is not reason, but what they call ty in english. The word ampathy wasn't coined until in english, until the twentieth century. We crave a, we want to sympathize with others. That's, that's the glue that holds it all together socially. And then, of course, we internalize that through a process of socialization and psychologicalaturation. It usually itself can't be understood in terms of reason or emotion alone.
