As a student I was geeking out on architects from the 60s like Super Studio, Arcongram. And these were my heroes but in Australia they were kind of like being a kid under the covers with a torch and reading a comic book after your parents had told you to go to bed. They weren't the sorts of things that we were supposed to be talking about. In the 80s, architects like Leibskind and Zaha, the economy wasn't at a point that would take the risks on building their buildings. But later in their career they found legitimacy for those drawings by actually translating them to built form.
