Mycenaean Rolling Hierarchy
A Mycenaean king had supreme command over the army and state, just as the Mesopotamian kings and Egyptian pharaohs. Most of the tablets are inventories of the king's possessions in the palace. A council of elders to advise the king was called the Karosiwa which in later Greek would be called Garosia. Below these men were lesser officials who appeared to have been in charge of the outlying areas for the larger kingdoms like Pylos.
