The role of all the publishing houses or publishers, you want to call it, is basically the same. Materials is by definition multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary. It doesn't happen often when you're talking about scientific publication. The difference is that you have to handle a materials group of journals in a different way than you would handle a very specific field.
