The Punitive Expeditions of Vladislav II
Vladislav II, son of Vladislav I, had just killed his father to take the Valakian throne. Dan III was a rival who had support from German cities in Transylvania. In 1459, Vlad set out to punish these cities for their transgressions. These were brutal tactics, but they worked. Allying with Vlad against the Ottomans would justify Corvinus' continued receipt of that crusading money.
