One of the things that I remember from the book that just stuck with me is the notion of clearing the decks. The idea that if you really diligently get other stuff out of the way, then large acres of time are going to open up in the future for you to focus on what you care about. It's this notion that appetites like that, wanting to get it all done, they ask to be fulfilled, but they're in fact never satisfied. And the act of constantly fulfilling them just stokes them feels to me like a pretty old truth.
