Scottish Independence and the Monarchy
S&P policy is to keep monarchist head of state if the party secure Scotland's independence. But quite what impact Scottish independence would have on the monarchy's standing in the rest of the United Kingdom is difficult to predict. The last King Charles was King of Scotland and King of England when they were separate states with their own parliaments, but that was in the 17th century. With republican sentiments stronger among supporters of Scottish independence, there's no guarantee that the monarchy would have a long-term future in an independent Scotland.
