The Relationship Between Energy and the Transition to Green Energy
In order to build a wind turbine I have to invest some energy. And afterwards the wind turbine will supply some energy. Back in the good old days 2000 years ago in the Roman Empire the return on investment was around two. That means that one farmer and his animals could produce food enough for himself and his animals, another person and his animals. So that is a EOE of two. Today we need more windmills and more solar panels than on theory we would require. We need an oversize grid. Because as we have seen, sometimes they produce a near to capacity. The more we want of wind turbines and solar cells the more fossil fuel we'll have to use.
