Heat pumps can be 300 to 500 percent more efficient than electric baseboards. US puts 441 million tons of CO2 emissions out each year just from heating and cooling. Heating and cooling makes up 50 percent of energy consumption in Europe. 80 percent of that comes from fossil fuels.
